LASIK: The Process & Recovery

Many people mistakenly believe they are not candidates for LASIK because they’ve heard a variety of myths, misinformation, or confusion about the procedure or about their own vision status.  The notion that “It’s too expensive” (we offer financing!) or “It’s not safe” (it’s FDA approved) are not proven out by the facts.  And those notions have not prevented millions of people from experiencing the life-changing benefits of Lasik!

The truth is – most people are great candidates for LASIK – those with nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even presbyopia (the loss of reading vision with age).

Step 1: Schedule Your Complimentary Consultation

At your complimentary consultation, we promise to answer every question you have!  You may have been told things about LASIK that aren’t correct, or you may simply be nervous about the procedure.  Our staff will ease your concerns and educate you on exactly what happens before, during, and after the procedure.

During your consultation, we will map the unique curvature of your eyes and design a custom treatment for your laser vision correction procedure.  Dr. Eisner will review the maps and data and determine if LASIK is indeed right for you.  Our Laser Vision Coordinator will discuss all of this information with you afterwards and explain the benefits of the Eisner Laser Center.  If you’re a candidate, you will meet with Dr. Eisner, have a pre-operative exam, and schedule your procedure.

Step 2: Procedure Day is Here!

Before your procedure day, you will be given a written set of simple instructions to follow. The day of your procedure you may eat, drink, and take medications as usual.  The procedure itself takes only about 20 minutes for both eyes.  Dr. Eisner will examine you afterwards, then you’re free to go home (make sure to have a driver).

The Eisner Laser Center laser vision correction technology is innovative, and our patients do not feel pain during the procedure.  Overall, LASIK is a very easy process for most people.

Step 3: Life After LASIK

After a nap, most patients wake up feeling better and seeing clearer!  There is typically an immense vision improvement the next day.  You will schedule follow-up visits with Dr. Eisner on a regular schedule to ensure your eyes are healing properly.

Are you ready to ditch your glasses and see the world clearly?  Let Dr. Eisner and the amazing team at Eisner Laser Center make it possible!
